Position Vacant: Patient Concierge

The Arkaba Medical Centre is looking to expand our patient concierge team. We currently have two vacancies available for a suitably experienced medical receptionist on a casual, part time (20+ hours per week) or full time basis.

Positions available for immediate start for suitable candidates.

Who are we?

The Arkaba Medical Centre was formed in 2004 as a result of the union of Fullarton Family Practice and Glenunga Clinic in order to provide more comprehensive health care for our community, including extended opening hours, longer appointment times and specialised treatments such as iron infusions.

Located on the fringe of the Adelaide CBD, we are a busy clinic open seven days a week. Our twenty-something health professionals are passionate about providing high quality health care to our diverse community.

What is a ‘Patient Concierge’?

We prefer the term ‘patient concierge’ because we aspire to be more than reception and admin staff; we are advocates for the patient and play a key role in the communication between patient and doctor. First impressions last and it is our highest priority that our patients receive quality care. This often means going “above and beyond” in providing superior service to our patients, and using this ‘can-do’ attitude to help our doctors do the same.

Key responsibilities of our Patient Concierge team include greeting patients in a friendly and professional manner, triaging phone calls and ensuring patients feel welcome in our clinic.

Absolute confidentiality regarding patient and practice information is essential.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Scheduling appointments via telephone and in person.

  • Various admin tasks (i.e. faxes, emails, settling accounts).

  • Data entry.

  • Facilitating communication between the patient and doctors.

The ideal candidate is someone who:

We look favourably on:

  • Previous experience using PracSoft and Medicare Director.

  • Ability to speak a second language.

  • Ability to work on a weekend roster, with flexibility to cover shifts.

  • History of customer service.
