Fullarton Road / Glen Osmond Road Upgrade

From Monday, 7th March 2022 until early April there will be nightworks (7pm to 6am) surrounding the Arkaba Medical Centre in preparation for the Glen Osmond Road and Fullarton Road Intersection Upgrade.

Major construction is scheduled to start in April.

During this time the intersection will remain open to traffic at all times, however, speed and lane restrictions will be in place.

This upgrade is a part of the 2019-2020 State Budget, aimed at reducing congestion in busy Metropolitan areas.

According to the Department of Infrastructure and Transport, “An average of approximately 58,000 vehicles per day pass through this intersection (based on a count conducted in September 2019). The intersection is experiencing heavy congestion, with competing traffic movements and network constraints leading to increased travel times and risks to safety.”

The upgrade will include a sheltered right turn lane on Fullarton Road at the junction with Campbell Road, providing an alternate route for vehicles travelling south along Fullarton Road wanting to access the Arkaba Medical Centre via Campbell Road and Collins Street;

For more information about the upgrade, visit the Department of Infrastructure and Transport website.

We thank you for your patience during this time and will continue to provide updates with regards to how these changes affect access to the Arkaba Medical Centre.
